832 pagina’s dik tellend boek van Vincent Quak, het onderzoek naar verhalen en interpretaties die op internet staan over de foto ‘Putin te paard’.
One picture, hundreds of stories. To me, that is most peculiar. I believe photography should be about creating an image that can only tell one story
and therefore can only be interpreted in one way. That is what I strive for in both my commissioned work and in my personal work. Once I have thought out
all the details that make up that one singular story and captured them in a picture, how can that picture tell a different story than the one I intended? It is
unthinkable to me that my images might be used to illustrate a different story than my own. Yet, during my research I found that it happens. A lot.
